I don't cut my inks with anything. As far as glycerine and alchohol and all that shit, I leave that up to the manufacturers who tweak with ink to be the creative ones and focus more on the art of tattooing.
Regarding bng work, basically I like to just dip in my rinse cup. There are those that are portrait artists that like to have all their grey tones and spread the drops of ink unequally between a few cups and fill with water, blend it up and start painting flesh. But again, those guys are beyond me.
As far as our bng video. Very well put together. Very informative. Covers all the basics of the piece regarding how it is taught in the industry to move from dark to light etc. Teaches student the basics of thinking of a light source when shading and more.
A nice one to check out after this one if you are interested is the mag video. Basically a nice follow up to the bng and teaches you the basic whip shading techniques and allows those out there stuck in the round shade mode to open up and be more versitile.
Peace Out
