Man I just tattooed this 59 year old guy who's arm stretched like a rubber glove !!!He just had to get a tribal arm band that connected ALL THE WAY
I also niticed I had to run my machine down a bit lower cause his skin was so soft and my first few lines got a little blown out . Came out alright though ...no real question here , just kinda bored , and the forum has been kinda empty lately :)

ok I got a question now , has anyone ever seen healing problems with people who are diabetic ? are there any dangers in tattooing diabetics ?
I understand people with skin disorders and pregnancys , Had to learn all about that in Oregon for the license , but I have never heard of diabeties being a problem , but I look around online at release forms and I see it listed ....any insight .

I tatto a diabetic guy, it took about 3 weeks for the last tattoo I gave hime to heal, but I do not know if the diabetic thing was the problem , cause he also admits that he did not take care of the tattoo. it still ended up turning out fine but he scabed up pretty bad.

well we'll see how well this guy heals , the piercer here says she wont pierce a tongue if the person is diabetic , cause they never heal right , she has been told that by other piercers too . But with diabeties becoming an epedemic in America (everyone knows at least one person who has it)
we have all had to tattooed people with it and never even knew , unless they said something .

My fiance' is a diabetic and has 5 tattoos, and has never had any problems with healing. In fact, he heals very quickly.

A diabetic who heals quickly is an anomaly. The main reason for listing the diabetic condition as an item on disclaimers is the fact that diabetes slows the healing process. Keeping the cut open a little longer allows more chance for infection. Staying scabbed up longer increases the chances for losing part of it prematurely, resulting in faded lines and holidays in your color (or Black). I'm sure there are a few diabetics who experience no lag in the healing process but as I said they are few and far between.
