havent seen to much on this topic yet... now on your little "battery" there are little arrows, one would think that this is the way the currant should flow through it. why is it then on some machines you can change the polarity and reverse the flow the machine still runs smooth? yet on some others , you reverse the polarity and the machine will heat up and begin to run rough? has any one been using a machine all afternoon and it works real smooth and then you sit down later to do another and the machine begins to run rough ? try switching the clip cord around and see if this doesnt help. if you do not know which way the currant is supposed to flow because the cap is covered. try this, since most clip cords i see are all black it is tough to tell which end is the pos. lead and which is the neg. lead. the next ime you load up your machine , mark the leads at the end of you clip cord with a + and the other a - , run for about 15 min and change the clip cord around ( reverse the leads) and run it for about 15 min. on most machines you will hear and feel a difference. take note on where the leads are whenb the machine is running at its best. remember this when you go to use the machine again and this will assure that you have the currant flowing thru it correctly.

polarity doesn't matter if you use bipolar capacitors. any machine that is put together right should have the polarity of the capacitor correct anyway.

on a black cord, the strand that is smooth is negative and the strand that is textured in positive. the positive should go to the rear binding post.
