i airbrush. Tons of work on dirt bikes, helmets and the like. I mostly use larger brushes (badger 400) more like smaller versions of auto touch up guns. I have a couple paasche double actions. great fun, but the work can be down right tedious if you decide to go to aggro with the detail.

Badger 400 is a pretty low pressure brush. I've used it all the way down at about 12 psi (don't ask me why, mostly for shits and giggles) its just a small version of a touch up gun. siphon feed and it has a small medium and large tip. I love it for spraying anything larger than 8x10. When I used to paint surfboards it was my saviour.
South Bay is in LA, just south of LAX, at the south end of the Santa Monica Bay, hence the name South Bay. Nice place, but the Yuppies are taking over.

I've been pinstriping since christmas...its not that hard, but you really need to get a piece of glass, ggraph paper and denatured alcohol. It make practicing how to use the brush really cheap. Just tape the paper to the bottom of the glass, and start striping on top. The denatured alcohol will wipe all the paint off easily before its dry (a little rougher after)

i use paasche...but i'd rather have a badger. they always seem to work better. I'm constantly fixing my paashce. I have a lot of flow problems. but i'm too lazy (read busy) to buy a new one.

i've been airbrushing /custom painting since 83(man im getting old) pinstriping only for about 7 years now-not much demand until lately.airbrush wise i would recommend iwata and paasche, for completes i use sharpe platinum spray guns and sata mini jets.
have any of you tried pinstriping with just a liner brush for painting?its good for smaller projects like bike fenders etc...

Hey, I have just got on this forum and glad to see others are into airbrushing. Just starting to get back into it. Only used it at college for photo touch ups. I have a pasche double action. It has been a hassel lately. Thinking it is my compressor but not sure. Just not getting very consistant paint flow. Which I find odd since I have been using just ink and Dr. Martins liquid water color. What size compressor is to small? Any ideas.

I airbrush as well. My setup is all Iwata HP BCS (6) and one BC2. I took an interest in Pinstriping about a year or so ago and picked up a few sword stripers and have been playin around with them. The fella that runs Badger Airbrush Co. is a top notch fella and customer service wise you will find no one else that comes close.
If I was to do it all over again I would be runnin Badger Anthems. Here is a link for the best prices that Ive found.

I have a Meiji (Iwata) MP3, two MP2 and a Paasche AB Turbo (weird airbrush....)
I have airbrushed since I was 13 (22 years ago) on model cars, paper, cars, helmets and motorcycles. I have just ordered the DVD from killerpaint.com - I look forward to learn his True Fire technique.
Airbrushing got me a job as an Art Director and I now do commercial Photoshop and 3D work, so the humble beginning with a hobby compressor, plastic models and an airbrush have, in a sence, shaped my careerpath (spelling?).
And now I can use the airbrush experience in tattooing, so I guess the airbrush has been my "call" in life :P
