I ,like others here, am new to tattooing. I have done alot of reading and have been practicing stencils and getting very familiar with sterilization. I feel I am ready to start practicing with the machines now.
My question is , are the cosmetic set ups (ink machine power supply) of a quality to do other tattoo's elsewhere on the body. My aunt does cosmetic tattooing and is wanting to off load some of her stuff and I definitly don't want to spend any money that is not going to benifit where I want to go. She does not know the answer to this question so I figured this was the place to post it.
Thanks

I would be very interested in knowing how to make a cheap machine that is not "prison" quality. I've seen those set ups and I guess if I was desprite....I want something I can sterilize and feel safe using on me and others. We just bought a house so moneys tight for now. Please feel free to direct e-mail me about how to make the machine (power supply suggestions) and anything else.
Thanks for the reply

If she uses the "pen sytle" setups, you cannot use these for tattooing. Any coil style machine would be fine. Most cosmetic artists today have move up to the coil machines for the extra power. Coil style machines are the same used for standard tattooing.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM SUPERIOR !!!!!! cant stress this enough....I know from experience , thier machines just dont even compare to anything ...get a workhorse iron , or a mickey sharpz .

ok. I looked at their site. They are definatley more expensive. My concern is spending alot of money on a set-up only to find out I've made a bad career choice. My idea of spending the money on a wasp set up was definately cost. After practice on myself and more study I have seen alot of very good machines outside the superior line.
I don't want to "waste" money either way, I do have a great love for tattoo's (even if it is only skin deep  ). I am looking for cheap at this point with the definate understanding of buying better equipment later. Your thoughts?

well if u just buy good stuff the first time round , then u wont have to go through the trouble of spending more money later . and crappy machines just wont perform as well as a good ones . If u really want to save money then I would suggest getting one of needle jacks machines . I hve not used them personally , but I believe framey , or Olboys has one ...
