vinyl gloves?

I have a client who is allergic to latex and i can get vinyl gloves 2 miles down the street. Ive never heard of people useing vinyl is this alright.What is the chances of someone being allergic to the vinyl aswell?thanx.

I would use Nitrile, The boss here has a latex alergy , so all we use in the store is Nitrile , they cost a little more , but not much .

i actully plan on buying the nitril gloves but im supposed to do this tat tomarrow and i dont have the time to wait on internet orders.i can get the vinyl gloves just down the street for 2.00 a box.i just need to know if there safe to use.thanx for the info tho

I have never used plastic gloves before but my thoughts would be no. I would have to say that you would not have the flexability that a latex or nitrile golve would have and they are not nearly as thick as either as well. That may tend to lead to an accidental needlestick injury or a needle penetrating the plastic glove. I really can't say I'd take the chnace and do a tattoo without the proper safety equiptment. Besides, you can obtian nitrile gloves at just about ANY pharmacy or your local Wal Mart if you had too.

huh.............. ive looked at wal-marts,walgreens,and cbs drug store for em and all they carry was latex and vinyl,ill try asking next time,maybe they keep em somewhere else. :?:

Ive used medical grade vynil gloves and they take a little getting use to, sticky and there a bit thicker than latex or nitrile gloves but work quite well no breaks or tears, you really shouldnt be using latex gloves any ways, long exsposure can result in gaining an allergy to latex, plus like a condom "petrolium products" like vaseline, eats right through it not good for a working artist. :shock:

Yes you can get the nitril gloves at autozone, pepboys, and checker. They are very popular with the techs, keeping the greese out of there fingers and nails. I currently work at a bap import parts in mesa. They are $10.00 for a box of 100.

Hey Dop, if you have a WalMart nearby. They carry purple nitrile gloves in the pharmacy section. Shoult be around 5.00 for 20 pair.

Personally I wouldnt care if they were pink and had dainty little flowers on em. Nitrile gloves work better for me than the vinyl gloves do. And you remove one more possibility of someone or yourself having a bad reaction to your gloves. When I'm working it never occurs to me that I should look macho or cool. My only concern is doing the best tattoo I can do and using the best equipment and supplies I can lay my hands on.

Im not giving you a hard time here Dopp. But the color of the gloves really shouldnt be a factor.

Its cool papa g.i have nothing against flowers or whatever.i hate purple for other reasons.and if i have a chioce ill go with other colors ,but like i said i know it aint a fashion show :lol: just hate purple(ex-wife thing) :lol:

now i got a grip of these glove a friend of mine works in a hospital,so he kicks with the nitrile glove and stuff.there not very stretchy :shock:.i got me some big paws.!
