does green ink stain the outer layer of the skin.while the tat is fresh it seems i have gotten good coverage, but ive noticed the ink stains the skin on the areas its touched while wipeing it off.this is resulting in addtional touch up sessions.will vaseline prevent the staining?i really dont think im working to fast either, there just areas of the tat that are stained that i didnt hit and stay away from to avoid overworking.is this a normal problem.

No ink should stain the skin , unless u have just worked that area with a lighter color , like if u have just colored a piece with yellow , then u try to do a some green around it , and u wipe across the whole thing and spread the green all over the fresh lighter area , then it can seep into the open area , and "stain it"
That is why U always should work from the dark colors frist and move to the light ...

the peice i did was just an outline with solid green fill and the green was actully staining the skin around the tat "where the skin wasent even broken"and took like a day to eventully rub off......sounds fishy to me.

what brand did u use? and what did u try to wash it off with ? usually green soap always works just fine for washing everything off the skin .

i was useing prizm inks but ive switched to intenze.i havent used green yet tho.and i useually just use a rag with distilled water to clean with ill try the green soap.sounds like that should work.do you dilute the soap in distilled water in a spray bottle and spray that on the rag? i didnt use the green soap becase i thought it would wash the outlines off..

Oh boy....k , here we go , yes u should dilute the soap with distilled water , I do about a 1/3 soap to 2/3 water . your stencil (assuming u are making stencils ) will stay on as long as u dont wipe it too much , and u use a light layer of vasaline over the tattoo while working .
And u should be using paper towels , so u can throw them away after they get messy , Do Not Use A Towel or Rag...and make sure u are putting plastic baggies over the tops of your spray bottles, and throwing them away after each use .

Maybe u should read through the WHOLE article under the sterilization and Cross Contamination section...

Because of the cleaning off of the darker colours I stopped using the paper towels a few years back. I found the paper towels would often leave small particles of paper lint on the skin after wiping as well as sometimes picked up in the tube. I have been using the CHUX ( Clorox ) range of cloths. They can be bought in a perforated roll or single cloths. They are made of rayon fibre and are extremely durable. The cloth will hold 10 times its own wieght in water. They come in 5 different colours (no dye release) to help prevent cross contamination. Due to the very low cost of the cloths you would never be tempted to use the same cloth twice.

Maybe its the type of paper towel your using. Bounty paper towels only. you never have lint problems with them and they hold up well.
