View Full Version : traveling peircing....
is it nomal for a peircing to gradualy move slightly from where it was originally. for instance my eyebrow peircing was lined up perfectly with my eye brow and now its kinda moveing downward.the ring weighs vurtually nothing ,you wouldnt think it would stretch or move.now i have the other side done aswell and its been done for years and hasent moved at all.what causes it to move?
well i kinda found the answer to my own question in the aftercare section, but i wasent really doing anything phisical or pulling at the peircing.???will it eventually push the ring out?

It is possible for any piercing to reject or migrate slightly over time. Many times if this is happening with a well healed piercing, then jewelry weight may be an issue, especially if it is not sitting flush (the ring may look small and light, but if it's profile is larger, the pull is there). Also, some times the jewelry will adjust it's position to sit in a less stressful place. If there was pressure from it physical position, it will move to a steadier place, usually one with less movement. Sudden migrations are usually due to physical trauma of some kind, realized or not. Keep an eye on it, if it continues to thin, removing the jewelry will save you some scarring.
