i dont really see what makes a machine junk when 80% of the parts are the same on all machines the only real differnce is frame style and how there set up and tuned, you will just have to find something that feels right when its in you hand.id spend more time learning how to tune my machine than worring what machine i have.i was guilty of this at first and im new to tattooing myself but im learning its more personal prefernce than anything so dont go buy what other people deam is the best.but if you want my opion the brass machines that jacks carrys looks like a killer machine to me.ive baught 3 machines in the last 6 months and im still concidering buying one.

heres a list of what id recommend for a newbie,

-decently built machine
-dispossible tubes and needles
-kuro sumi ink (for outlines and tribal fill)
-intenze or millinium inks
-nitrile gloves(to many people are allergic to latex)
-power supply with at least some adjustment (speed)
-gem foot pedal (trust me  )
-clip cord.......(any)
-all your medical supplys (read everything you can find on cross contaimination and buy everything you will need to properly clean everything!!!!!)
-most of the other stuff youll need you dont have many opions so go for cheap.stencil paper, ink cups, ect.

well this is the list i wish someone would have layed out for me it would have saved me time, money and aggrivation.hope this helps.

krow.
