How many of you guys use dermal punches (biopsy punches), and at what gauge do you insist on its use for large gauge cartilage piercings?
I personally use a dermal punch for anything bigger than 8 gauge in cartilage. I have found that using them at lower diameters is beneficial too. Healing times are 4 to 6 weeks I shit you not. I would use nothing but if I could. I tried it on lobes, one time, found cutting is just as easy, and no tissue loss for future stretching, so gave up that route. I have even used punches to do septums up to 4 gauge that healed in several weeks with little to no soreness. I punched two 00g holes in my upper outer conchs, and it went like a dream.
