Now this list is NOT all inclusive, but contains some of the most common types of jewelry

Ball Closure Ring, also known as a captive bead ring, and hoop, by some. The bead stays in place from the spring pressure of the jewelry.

Body Spiral, balls are usually threaded

Circular Barbells, balls are usually threaded. Some people pop in a captive bead between the two balls, giving a slightly different look, and some color options. Also, if sized properly, it is an effective septum retainer.

Labret Stud, flat backed, used for many oral applications. Ball is threaded, sometimes the disc is too. Also comes in fishtail varieties that have no flat back, just a longer piece of material that lays in next to the gum. On a side note, labret is not a French word, the t is not silent....here is the excerpt from the dictionary:

Nostril Screws, come in many end styles and gem colors. Used exclusively for nostril piercings. This is the screw style pictured. Ball, or bone style exist also, but are a horrible jewelry choice.
