i was sittin around last nite messing with my machine and something weird started to happen.i had my thumb on the bottom of the frame and my fore finger on top of the spring pressing it down onto the coil ,then it started to very lightly jump like it was getting power but there were no cords hooked up.i could feel little tingly feelings in my fingers and hands as it did it.i let go of it and sat it down then picked it back up and tryed again and it still does it.whats causeing that to happen "static"? i didnt run the machine at all previous to this ocurance.if anyone knows whats causing this let me know im interested.....friggin weird.

As a joke in the garage, we used to charge up a condensor. (back in the day when cars used points and condensors) Then we would leave it laying on the work bench and ask someone to hand it to us. When they touched the wire it would shock the living shit out of them. We would all laugh and have great fun at the expense of the poor fellow. A condensor is the same thing as a capacitor.

A capacitor is sort of like a battery that stores a charge. However it normally releases that charge rapidly or all at once when it's grounded. In the case of your machine. The power supply is used to create a strong on/off magnet (coils). The capacitor more or less regulates the flow of electricity. This allows the machine to run at a constant, unchanging intensity. Probably, after turning it off and unhooking it, the cap still has some juice in it and is causing the coils to remain slightly magnetic.
