I've been reading up on Japanese style tattooing- they must use different inks/pigments than the western culture. I have the kuro sumi black ink, but does anyone know where or how one can get their hands on ink products manufactered in the east? Maybe this isn't possible- I've read that usually their inks are laced with cocaine to act as a numbing agent- might have some retarded westerners trying to snort it... anyway, from the body suits that I've seen that must take years to complete, you can't see any difference in color from one section of the body to the next- there is virtually no fading. The Eastern culture seems to take more pride & time into their work (whatever it may be) than our western culture, so I assume they make their inks with only the finest ingredients....I'm sure most of the artists over there make their own, but where there is a seller's market, there must be a seller....

From what i have read about trying to learn about these eastern tattoo masters, there is alot of secrecy in subjects like that.... I person almost would have to trained in a marital art type discipline. I think that would be difficult subject to research..... but well worth the time if you have it and wnat the knowledge bad enough :?

Hello,
One big reason you do not see any fadeing is because there tattoo's never see natural light (The Sun). They do not show off there tattoo's like we do. There are a sign of status and are highly taken care of and covered. Only the inner circle sees them and behind closed doors.

and the pics u are seeing are in magazines ...nobody will submit old faded looking tatts and expect them to be published in a magazine .Just as artists form over here only want there best looking work in a mag . Im sure alot of pictures u see from over there are applied with alot of the same techniques as we use , and prolly the same inks too . If they had some secret methods or inks , it would all be exploited by now ...

Alot of the Japanese artist mix their own inks, and I've seen that a lot of them use Unique.

As far as tattoo fading. For example a body suit from one of them might take years to finish, 5, even 10 years...
Nowdays, they use machines to outline (sujibori).
And fill in by hand.

Compared to Westerners, a body suit can take 2 months max???

Tattoos should be done with ethics. Can't mix your art with personal stuff. You have to give 150% to that person your tattooing. Don't rush yourself coz your tired or have to go somewhere...For example, I once tattoed a really small piece that took me 5 hours, and would normally take another artist 1 hour....just a thought

Preacher- good point about the natural light- it is not customary for them to reveal their suits in public like we would.

BUBUBU IS NOT THE REAL SHIGE!
this loser posted Shiges photos without permission and gave no credit to the real artist. tell him he deserves a slow painful death.

the real artists name is SHIGENORI IWASAKI and his website is YELLOW BLAZE TATTOO in japan.
