Hello,
A heat sterilizer is like putting your supplies in your house oven. Dry heat time for sterilization is to long, and not garrenteed your things will be sterilized. Steam autoclaves use heat, steam, and pressure. Steam autoclaves are the best way to go. But you will need to spore test every so offton. :D

I wouldn't recommend it. It's not worth risking someones life for that. Buy an autoclave or use all disposables. Most states also do not allow you to use a dry heat as an effective sterilization for tubes.

If you dont use and maintain any sterilization equipment it isnt going to do the job right.
from the info I have gotten, if you set and use a dry heat sterilizer propperly it can be effective, the time involved is the major drawback.
according to the health dept here dry heat at 325 F for 2 hours is sufficient to sterilize, but the ultimate authority would be your local health dept. also as with any sterilization equipment you have to check them on a regular basis to ensure they are doing the job ie. spore testing.
