in the DFW area there is a resturant called traildust, they have some of the best steaks in the world. ya got to go see al the tourist junk like the "6th floor"( the place where oswald shot kenedy from). be prepared though, dallas is a pretty snooty town with a lot of rich snob types. personally I like san antonio, and el-paso better. but i have to go to dallas once a year because my sisiter lives there.

In dallas, you will find property to be high just cause it's a very big city. Smaller towns have s much better cost of living, You may want to search the outskirts of the area. You will also find a lot of flashy belt buckles and 10 gallon cowboy hats, and everyone seems to have that superficial smile with a very bad texan accent. Funny, you don't hear accents like that all over Texas.
Houston sucks. High crime, dirty, way over rated. Personally, San Antonio is an excellent choice, and Austin, the capitol is wonderful too. Austin has a pretty good tat scene, college town and fun stuff to do. Lots of culture, art museums, and good live music. In fact, I am only about an hour from there, in a smaller area, and the cost of living is cheap compared to most places.
San Antonio is a favorite city of mine, it's gorgeous. The River walk is beautiful, many famous people like to visit, the wax museums are great too. Lots to do, but again, you will want to look on the outskirts. It's the only way to avoid outrageous rent. Hope you like lots and lots of Mexicans. No, that is not a racial remark, so don't even start, it's a fact.

shoot voodoo,
just come to georgia, texans are just former georgians who were a little further over the top than allowable by state law so they were deported to texas (lol). there is a lot of work to be found here in whatever field you specialize in. the athens /atlanta music scene and nightlife are legendary not to mention both atlanta and athens are big time college towns (GA Tech and University of Georgia). the tattoo laws are for the most part wide open, not a whole lot of compitition, taxes are less depending on county and you can get your house with 10 acres probably a lot cheaper. plus the cost of living is cheaper. you can still get a loaf of bread for less than a buck, you can find gas less than 2.00 a gallon, and if you ride a bike its a year round riding state, plus the added bonus of being close to the best motorcycle road in the country and possibly the world. Ever hear of the dragons tail? 311 curves in an 11 mile stretch through the blueridge mountains!!! not to mention a few hours drive and you are in daytona beach, or Orlando, or Tampa, or even Panama city.

Now there ain't nothing wrong with the DFW area. That's my area. Taxes in the ciy are high. Taxes right outside are not that bad.

You know, you're right. I live in south west Georgia and I swear, all you ever see around here is damn Mexican's a Guatemalans (I think I spelled that wrong). I'm not prejudice but the one's around here like to get drunk and run over people or store fronts and then come to find out they don't have a green card, license or insurance. I'm not over exajurating either, I know of 6 convienence stores in town that have had cars parked inside next to the chips and dips because they were too drunk to stop. One of them happened to of had this done 3 times last year. Plus, you basically HAVE to speak spanish in no matter what area of buisness you're in. As a matter of fact, I just printed some cards up that have my shop's name and phone number and everything in spainish, then on the bottom of the card it says, "sorry we do not speak spainish". But of course it's in spainish. So if you like mexican women, Cairo, GA is your town.

It's probably not a good idea for a Georgian to bring the flag. We have to many issues with deciding on a damn flag. lol.

LOL. I love it here in Texas. I have lived in over half the states in the US and Texas by far is the best choice I ever made. Now if you don't like heat though Texas probably wouldn't be a good bet for you.

Here's how you fish in the desert. Go out into the desert at dusk with a decent fishing pole and some fair sized hooks. Put a weight and a hook on the end of the line but no bait.
Now make sure you're out in the open. Take the fishing pole and start swinging the hook and sinker in a circular motion above your head. Let out a little line so that you have about a twenty foot radius around you. After about three minutes you will feel something hit the line. Stop swinging it and reel it in.
Depending on the area of the country you're in your catch will weigh anywhere from three ounces to about two pounds. Just toss onto a grill and enjoy. Dont pay any attention to the wings. they're not edible.
I've always call this activity "bat fishing". Something about the whistling of the line through the air tends to attract them.
