I don't really know if this post should go here, but I was unsure where else to put it. I just need some advice on Power Supplies, does anyone recommend one? I want one that is going to last and not cost more than $150. I have looked on ebay and Tech. tattoo is selling one called PS2, does anyone know if it's worth it? I think they are selling it for like $79 or something./// Another question, I have a Huck PS Unit 1 and it doesn't work. Any suggestions on where I could have it looked at and maybe fixed for cheap? Maybe it's just the fuse, I don't know. I bought it off ebay for over $100 and the person didn't bubble wrap it or put anything to secure it in the box ( DOH!) so the knobs were broke into a million pieces and it doesn't even turn on! (Little to say, I stopped payment on the check, got into a huge fued over the damn thing with this woman, and when I said I wanted to send it back to her, she told me not to send her anything, and hasn't responded to any of my emails ~ Oh well~) So I have a Free BROKEN Huck Spaulding power supply. Maybe a radio repair shop?? I wouldn't mind getting it fixed. What else am I going to do with it? It's freaking huge! It looks like an antique! Does anyone have this one?

if i were you ,i'd write it off to experiance ! a huck supply is garbage .don't waste your time or your money anymore .i have'nt tried the other supply from Tech. get your self a surge protector along with your new power supply ,you don't want voltage spikes ,while your tattooing .
by the way love the profile !

I've used a Spaulding for 4 years now... I've never had a problem with it. Before going and buying yourself an Eikon, take the one you have to a TV repair shop. They'll probably be able to get it up and running for less than $40. And like inked said, get a surge surge protector... or even better, an uninterruptable power supply (UPS). It'll protect against surges AND brown-outs (dips in power) plus it will condition your power.

well ,my problem with huck's power is it takes so much power to get it going . it starts at like 8 volts or something . you can find alot better supply . a lab-grade or something ,they're not that costly !

I have one of the tech tattoo Ps2 power supplies in my travel kit, It is small (about the size of cd case square and 2 packs of smokes high) it works well and has never given me any probs. if you are coloring a large area you can pull the footswitch jack half way out and it will run without pressing the footswitch and it has a 10 turn pot.

hey, thanks for the replies. My hubby took a look inside the ole Huck PS and one wire came loose and needs to be re-soldered. He's gonna do it tonight to see if that was the problem. Hope so, then I won't have to shell out the cash to get a new one for a little while. :)

I own a huck ps, it is a great power unit but it is hard to slow do your machines on, it say it is on zero volts and still runs my time machine like a mad man.

I have a Spaulding (lunch box) Ive never had any problems with it, I bought it new, I also have a ps2, and it works quite well, Hint:(ps2) if u pull the jack out half way (foot pedal) when in shading mode, it will run non-stop without pressing the foot pedal at all.
You can get a real nice digital one for $53.95 from here: http://elexp.com/tst_1802.htm
It's exactly like the Mastech ones.
