Hello guys, i have been around here and there and i know all about p/s volts and whatnot. But here is a good question....My teacher uses 16-17 volt on all his machines and i should never tell him he is wrong so what should i do??? i don't want to get caught changing his p/s. Any help out there and please don't tell me to find a differant teacher as it was hard enough to get 1 in the 1st place.

If he wants to run his machines at high voltage you should let him. But when you use your own equipment you should experiment with different voltage settings to find what works best for the situation you're in at the moment.

There is no correct voltage setting or standard setting. Each machine will use different settings to extract the result you want to achive. A single machine might need a higher or lower setting depending on the needle grouping you're using.

Damn 16-17 volts? i line at 6-7 volts, and thats about as much i need , when i colour or shade i use about 4-5 volts.. you will tear the skin up if you tattoo with 16-17 volts.

His machines must be totalty wasted if he runs them with so much volt.

random question.. I have a smaller power unit.. goes up to 12 volts. I just bought an iron Strongman .. and it runs good on 7 vts.. but runs better on 12.. when I turn it down to 7 it's like it isn't getting enough juice.. it's a brand new machine.. is there any reason why it wouldnt run as a decent 'colorer" at 7 volts?

That's the thing, it sounds like it's normal(normal to me=12V). He has been doing tats for a long time and on alot of peeps. I don't know, maybe i'll try it his way and let you guys know.
