i use kuro sumi outlining ink for outlining (obviously) but i tried it for colouring solid black on a tribal piece, it worked very well has any one else used it for colouring as well or would you recommend it just for outlining

I use it all the time for doing tribal stuff, and if you need to color something in that darkest shade of black by all means go for it.

I use it for outlining, coloring, and shading as well (although getting the mixture right was a bitch). Not only that, but 20 bucks for a 12oz. bottle of great ink. You can't beat the qualty and value. :!:

I us eK.S. for Outlining and shading I use K.S. wash plus I mix it down for lighter shades

I dont use Kuru anymore for outlining, its so messy and sometimes the outlines gets TO black ;)

I only use it for tribals and so on..

if you want black washes use pelikin....it cuts very nicely, talens is a fine outline ink but dont cut worth a damn.....hope this helps

Why is it so messy??? Is it cause it's thin???
Just want to know before i order.

messy because its thin and extremely black so wiping makes a mess but blotting works real good at makeing no mess i use sumi all the time its my favorite black ink but use others when i need different looks

The Kuro ink is based on "carbon" so its really messy and black.

Its perfekt for tribals and so on, but if you dont want your stencil to go bye bye , use something else ;)

i have used sumi for solid black.i found it worked well but i used intenze black tribal ink from mario barth all last week,and in all my years i have never used a better ink for tribal.i would not use it for line work though. :?: :idea: :shock:

Kuro is okay for my large fill work, but I dont like it for outlines, the stuff is too sticky, you cant use enough petroleum to keep a stencil on. But it is well worth the twelve bucks for twelve ounces.
