ok, well I changed out the bottom spring, and it works again.. but it seems that maybe these springs are too tall.. or the armature bar sits up too high.. that can be fixed.. My new dilemma is that the TOP BINDING POST is loose.. I tried to tighten it, and I get nothing.. so now when I turn on the machine.. the contact screw either pushes itself up or down, and stops making contact with the spring. It's really loose.. Any ideas on how to tighten this? I tried what I thought was right, but apparently it wasn't. lol. (I tried tightening the Top Binding Post Mounting Screw... the Contact Point screw, nothing) I am at a loss.. and I have 3 appointments in 2 days. *sigh

try adding a washer or two between the binding post and the screw.

I will def. try that. I just dont understand why it became so loose..it was tight as could be with the washers that it came with... I understand how it became so loose..(cause I was messing with it fixing that spring) but why it wont tighten again.. has anyone else ran into this problem?

Yea Framey, thats what it sounds like to me.
I had that happen with a Spaulding Puma Lightweight Shader. I replaced the binding post all together. It's all good now. I'll PM you with a link to some schtuff I used to spuce the machine up a bit.

My teacher got 2 machines from here(both the strong) and both of them had rust on the springs but this guy Jack was kool and sent a bag with new springs in each box. It's alittle more work but the price for the machines is great, the shipping was a bit high but they came in 3 days.
It was alittle sad to see that they both had scratches on them(not that bad, but 4-5 marks). And i don't know why, but the silver 1 had more power. :?

So all in all.....The strong machine is a great buy.
I'm going to order mine next week.

Sometimes i use a little locktite, once I have everything set the way I want, doesnt hurt, (my opinion) I use the medium bond type.

Extra parts are a must. I'm sure most everyone here can tell you a story of a machine mishap during a tattoo. I keep enouch parts to rebuild my entire machine if needed. Most machine suppliers sell a "rebuild kit" for thier machines. I reccomend buying it before you need it.

Kinda like a gun, better to have one and not need one, than need one and not have one!!!
