Hey, I have quite a few MoM's inks, and all are great, except the Agent Orange. I have only used it once, I'd say I bought it about 3 months ago, anyways, I went to use it last night and I couldn't even shake it up, it was that thick in the bottle! Should I just chuck it in the trash, or can I do something like pour some witch hazel in it to thin it out? If so, how much should I use, or just watch for consistancy? thanks! -------also, about another ink I have, I have some 1/2 oz. H.S. inks that I got about 4 1/2 months ago, use them very rarely since I found MoM'S, Starbrite and Intenze, anyways, since I haven't really used them, I can see in the bottle now, where the color portion of the pigment sits at the bottom of the bottle, while it's clear liquid at the top (both meeting at the middle). Is this alcohol? ------- Okay, last question about inks, should I be shaking them often, even the ones I don't use, or just before I use them? Thanks everyone!

I have a bottle of Mom's ink with an ingredients lable on it. Here's whats in it.
Glycerine, monkey piss, nuclear waste, fecal matter, rat droppings and alcohol. And something called C# 12475.77891.21095.
Add a small amount of alcohol to thin it out. I wonder if the glycerine is a thickening agent?
I shake my bottles everytime I wipe them down with a sanitary wipe. Which is after every tattoo I do. I also still have all my inks that came in my Kaplan kit. Although I dont use them any more. They've also seperated. I belive Kaplans used listerine to cut theirs with.
Why dont you like the Agent Orange color? I've used it a lot and never had any problem with it.

No, I really like the Agent Orange color, it's just that it's so thick in the bottle that I can't even shake it. That's why I was wondering what to cut it down with. Do you know about how much alcohol I should put in the bottle? Or should I just put in a little at a time until it gets to the right consistancy?

Just a suggestion, but I go to walmart, go to the sporting goods dept. and get a bag of large shot. It's the stuff people shoot with a sling shot. Make sure it doesn't have lead. Drop a couple of the balls into your bottle. they will help you to shake them better. A lot like a can of spray paint. I always cut with alcohol, but have heard good things about witch hazel.

IF YOU PUT ANYTHING INTO YOUR BOTTLES TO AGITATE (MIX) THE INKS MAKE SURE THE OBJECT IS STERILE !!!!!!!!! PREFERABLY AUTO-CLAVED !!!!

The steele balls must be claved to use them. That would be the safest way to go.

Do clave the balls. I believe I read in an earlier thread that you do have an autoclave. I always assume everyone sterilizes everything. Also make sure that you get the steel balls not lead.

i find its easier to use an odd shaped stones (I also make jewelery ), because the round ones tend to block the flow of ink out of the tip of the bottle !!!
