Okay, so it's not a trick, and I'm sure it's been done before me, but I thought I'd share, I did a small flower on top of my big toe last night (which hurt like a biotch!) I didn't even want to waste a spec of spirit master for this tiny thing, so I used a hectograph pencil and drew the flower on it, and viola! Transfered it right on to the ole Fred Flinstone of a toe! heheh. I just didn't know you could do that. Not that I would recommend it for a normal size piece, but it worked for me for the little flower anyways

I dont own a transparency machine so everything i do is through hectograph pencil and tracing paper, you can use skin markers with tracing paper also,(purple) leaves a more bolder stencil (my opinion) Ive also used clear acetate and engraver with charcoal powder, works ok, but smears quickly.

acetate and charcoal .. crazy old school. I've never tried it but from what I've read it can be a nightmare. Urmindsi, have you tried spirit masters hectograph paper? I find them to be a lot more easier than using hectograph pencils.. no sharpening.. no brittle lead chipping away and breaking ... you get nice crisp lines everytime.

Yeah, Ive bought 2 types, and havent had much success, thought i could buy it from office depot, (the blue Type) it worked alittle, but not with the results i was looking for, guess Ill buy from a tattoo supplier, from the other post Ive read on this forum , it seems the way to go.

Yeah, It's good stuff. the stuff at office supply stores are more like carbon paper and doesn't transfer well. another alternative to spirit masters and hectograph pencils is Hectograph ink. Fill up a good artist pen and you're good to go.
Here's a recipe if you can't find the ink anywhere.. got it from another website I found a long time ago.
Methyl voilet, 2parts
Alcohol, 2 parts
Sugar, 1 part
Glycerine, 4 parts
Water, 24 parts
Dissolve the violet in the alcohol mixed w/ glycerine.
Dissolve sugar in the water then mix both solutions.
finding the Glycerine and Methyl violet at a local store proved to be a bit tricky.
