I use the Ametol Gel, shave the area, smear the gel and spread the area you need, now very important, draw an oval around the gel so when you come to tattoo you know the exact area that was numbed, cover the gel and leave for one hour. After one hour remove covering, wipe off and clean the skin and apply the transfer as normal.

why would you need to numb the area for a tattoo an wait an hour for it to go numb you would have your shop stacked up with customers that you wouldnt be able to move?

dont know about amatol gel, but emla cream contains lidacaine, the skin must be broken before it will numb the area., i have heard from a few artist that there tattoo's heal up light from over use of this product, i call this stuff pussy cream, if you need to use it because your cleint cant take a tattoo, well...you get the picture.....
