lately on tv i have been seeing a lot of stuff about tattoos and piercings and it has sparked my intrest in piercings. i dont have any yet, but plan on getting one to see what its like.
the thing is, theres so many places that seem interesting to get pierced that i dont know where to start.
ive been thinking about the common stuff like the ears or nipples or my lip. maybe even a septum.
just wondering which of these places people say is the least painful. pain is not that much of a factor to me, but i dont want my first one to be one of the more painful ones.
and about the nipples, if you pierce them do you still have feeling in them?
hope that wasnt a stupid question.

none of my piercings really hurt. my nipples are more sensitive now after piercing. I really don't know which is more painful. I've pierced my nose, lip, 6 in each ear(lobe and cartalige), both nipples, eye brow, and 6 upper and lower frenum lader. the first time i pierced my nipples it hurt a little but the second and 3 time i didn't notice

Septum hurts like a mutha. And is the only piercing you could actually die from if not properly takin care of. If the site of the septum gets infected the infection can spread up to your brain. If properly done and properly taken care of, their is nothing to worry about.

Man, I am gonna play nice here, but you are a bit mis informed. You can die from ANY piercing that is not taken care of properly, then ignored while the tissue, in full necrosis dies off, and poisons the blood. A septum piercing is absolutely no more likely to cause infection than ANY other piercing, nor is it any more dangerous to contract an infection there. Yes, infection in cartilage is harder to get rid of, and travels a bit faster through the tissue because of poor circulation (cartilage lacks it's own blood supply, therefor must rely on the tissue around it for nutrients) than in soft tissue, but you would have to be an absolute MORON for you to let an infection which would take several weeks to manifest truly dangerous symptoms to get that far without intervention. Blood that supplies the brain, is the same blood that supplies the feet, therefor an infection in your toe offers the same danger in a serious infection scenario. And the septum piercing doesn't necessarily have to be done properly at all. Ever see the primitive tribes jam a sharpened chicken bone through there? Is that your idea of properly? You don't see them dropping like flies, and this in the quite unsanitary enviromental conditions they are forced to deal with. Quite frankly you can cut your nose completely off without much worries....surely you can see a little needle stick through the septum isn't that big a deal. Nor is the initial pain that bad...my septum, which is currently 2 gauge was pierced at 8 gauge, and though it pinched a bit, there is no way I would claim it was exceptionally painful. Over exaggerations of procedural risks are designed for one thing....social control, you dear old mom and dad made that shit up to scare you from doing it,.... and it's total bunk. Please check your facts before posting such scare tactics. As a professional, you should not be repeating such nonsense and perpetuating ignorance in the industry, and quite frankly really should know better. And if my pretty extensive medical training, experience and well researched knowledge isn't enough for you, then I will be glad to point you to links where you can get a well informed second third or forth opinion on the matter.... <walks away shaking head>

There was a post before this one from you saying a doctor told you this. I am assuming you deleted it, but I will respond anyway. Doctors are NOTORIOUS for worst case scenerios, no matter how improbable, because frankly few support body modification in any form. Personal bias tends to affect objectivity. Yes, a deadly infection is possible, but so is being struck by lightning when you walk out your front door.
