is this shaking coming from being too nervous to tattoo or is it a medical condition?

I'm not sure, I have done alot of tats after a few beers and i don't really shake so it might be that i'm just nervous. I'm just starting to work off the needle too and i don't shake when i'm doing pig ears...just when i'm doing myself, so what can i do if it is just nerves???

tough question man. I had the same problem when I first started. usually after 10 minutes into the lining my hand and my nerves would be at ease. After doing plenty of tattoos and building lots of confidence it subsided. I can't think of anything other than to keep on goin man. More experience leads to more confidence. Also, client positioning can help.. I find it much easier to have them laying down when I work. Maybe it just reminds me of drawing on a table.. a really soft and curvy one.

Put on some of your fav. music and block them out some what & take a deep breath and go for you will get your flow out just don't stress out.
I know because I did the same sooner or later the shakes go away.

how many tats have you done bro?
if you've yet to do one, then its fear, fear of messing up, but if you've done a bunch and you didn't shake before then its possiblly a medical
conditional brought on by your fear or some other factor.
like i said before, your the artist, you can always repair most mistakes if you relax and think about what your going to do.
if its the other, i would say go to the doctor bro, at least for peace of mind.
