hi everyone been reading a few old posts on machines and tuning because my machine will only run smooth at 16 volts ive noticed that the armature bar only touches the front coil could this mean that the spring has got the wrong angle on it or do i need to put a shim under the back coil to lift it up im sorry but i dont know what make my machines are i bought them from ets tattoo on ebay and does any one know where i can get a good set of springs and armature bar from thanks for your help

Hey Gav, 16v's ?! something wrong there.. Could be you need a yoke.. or you need a new capaicitor.. can't think of anything else.. it's too early in the morning :? anyhow, for your A bar.. rule of thumb is that it's supposed to touch the front coil first and be a hair shy of touching the rear. some of my machines are set up like that.. others are flush .. don't really notice a difference on how they run.

I sorta had the same problem with a few of my machines, depending on what your using them for, I loosened the back screw that holds the rear spring, swung it to the right, tightened the screw and slightly applied pressure at the fulcrum giving the rear spring a very slight upward bend and that helped me tune it down to about 6 volts. worked for me. As for springs and armature bars & springs...Needlejack depending on what machines u have, Ive also heard Eikon makes good springs but I believe u need to prove u work in a pro outfit.
