How come when a person receives a tattoo there isn't scaring or scar tissue where the needles punctured the skin?

Go too deep in the dermis and it will scar or cause skin trauma and hamburger the skin, some scarring will occur, I have got scars left from pro artists so it can happen if you are not careful.

When one gets scared from getting a tattoo, what does it generally look like (or feel)? And how soon after getting the tat will you know you've been scared?
ZT
ive scared myself doing tattos, thank the gods i havent scared a client yet, but it looks like a normal scar the ink under it will look alot lighter, i had just gotten a tattoo on my left shoulder then a few days later i ran into some angle iron at work and riped a big chunk of skin and ink out hurt like hell and healed like hell, its been over a year now and still looks like hell havent had the time to get it gone over yet.

There is always scarring after a tattoo, if u do it right, all the ink will stay in, the scabs will be the color of the ink(sorta)and very minimal, after a week or so the scab will look kind of bubbled almost like the tattoo is offset from the skin, like a film..., very thin and crusty to a ..thin degree?, your shedding your skin. Flecking is natural when applying ointments, as long as they(scabs) come off naturally, after most of the scabbing falls off, the skin has an accordian look to it kind of glossy, if u see flecks of white accross the piece it is probly a good time to stop with ointment and start applying a skin moisterizer ( i use jergens) this is so u or the client do not itch/pick the area, and then its all about time. Just because the scabs have fallen off doesnt mean its healed yet, My tattoos take about 2 weeks before they achieve that healed look, sometimes 1 1/2 weeks depending on size and area. U need to tattoo threw the epidermis layer ( protective top layer of our skin) and into the derma.
If u have overworked an area, or have your needles set to deep, the scabbing will probly be excessive, large (thick) scabs are no good!!!!!!!
This question probably should have fallen under tattoo aftercare section of this forum.
