The answer is ink !!
I have been using an Epson printer to print stencils I have now changed to an HP printer and what a difference. Crystal clear stencils in no time at all. For some reason the ink in my Epson can not bee seen by the thermofax

wango- did you happen to remove the protective barrier between the ink sheet and copy sheet? Are you placing the line drawing between the right sheets?and last, make sure you use a carrier sheet.

Whats a 'carrier sheet?'

a carrier sheet is a protective acetate type envelope that keeps the roller from getting trashed. Had a friend once let an unexperienced person use his machine, sent it through with the ink sheet exposed and cranked her up to max, frying the roller

Okdoky, The THERMOfax copyers are transfer by heat to the paper or to a ribbon. most commonly to the paper. I.e have you ever got a recipt from let say the gas station. left it in the car on the dash board for the day. when you come back its black. Thermopaper in the old days it was light sensative ie photo paper. As for the secondary paper in the transfer sheets, its like puting wax paper in between your drawings.
so the ink or the pen, or charcol doesn't rub off onto the other sheet when transporting it. I hope this helps.
