Does it matter WHAT the contact screw is really made from and does Brass or Silver conduct differently than each other?
Also - does the ANGLE of the CONTACT SCREW touching the Spring make ANY difference?
I see a lot of pics of machines out there where the Contact Screw isn't even hitting the Spring squarely. Does that matter at all?

i had brass screws and switched over to silver and my machines run alot better and longer without tweaking. Ive also found that by rounding the contact point its makes the springs last longer and and the machine easier to adjust.

Really? So flat ends are a no-no, huh?

not really a no no but a personal preference im always trying to get more from my machines so modifyng some parts will sometimes make a difference

If not misstaken Silver is a better conductor for electricity, And as for Brass is to bad its self either. not a real good answer I would say its a matter of prefence but neither will work well when the contact point becomes dirty& pitted, take a file and just give it a good clean contact point.

silver is a better conductor than brass and copper is better than brass but copper is to soft as is aluminum to take the abuse, gold is the best conductor but its too cost prohibitive.
