I have a quick question about the o-ring atop the armature bar and spring.

The o-rings come in 2 different sizes 11 and 12.I read somewhere about which size o-ring goes on a shader machine and which goes on a liner. But for the life of me I can't find where I read it.Can anyone help me out??

Thanks

I would say that the thicker of the two would be the o-ring for the shader. The o-ring adds weight and also dampens vibration. It also tends to soften the hit of the needle. The more vibration absorbed by the o-ring the softer the hit. Try running the machine without the o-ring. It's gonna sound like a Murray lawnmower but you will be suprised at how much less voltage you can use.

I use Spaulding Machines, and each came with 2 O-Rings. A small one that keeps tension on the front spring, and another bigger one that loops underneath and keeps tension on the A-bar(so it seems) I took them off completely
