How Many volts for shading and for lining????

Im new to tattooing and i've done a couple of my friends tattoos and they look good, but one of the troubles that i never really gotten is how many volts do i use for shading and how many volts do i use for outlining exactly?

there aint no set volts my man for either
a lot can depend on the machine,what coils your running,springs,caps needles,tubes etc
i would suggest that you have a read on the forum first and that might give you some pointers
