i just bought a 28 color set of prizm colors from superior tattoo equipment. when i finish doing a colored tattoo with them the tattoo seems to come out fine. but when it heals the color is totally faded. sometimes the color will just not be there at all. my balck and grey tats come out fine, but i use another brand of black. another thing is straight out of the bottle the ink seems really thick, too thick to go in the skin, so i water them down. could it be that im not supposed to water them down? should i use the color straight out of the bottle? should i go in deeper? should i just use another brand of color? i dont wanna just throw away a brand new set of colors. is there anything i can do to make them work better??????

Prizm inks are not good inks. I would stick with Intenze, Starbrite, or Millenium. I hear the Needlejack's inks are good too but I haven't tried them yet.
In my opinion you can get all brand of ink in the skin, its just a matter of the machine speed and the hand speed!! But if I was a new one in tattooing I sure do use Starbrite its easy to get in the skin if your not very well in tattooing! Just my opinion'

Yeah, go with some better ink, and be sure to stretch the skin tight, if you dont know whats causing this I would not recommend riding your needles or setting them deeper (you could cause more damage, play it safe!!!), ride the tube with your needles out (with armature bar in the down position) making sure your needles do not stick out past the tip of your tube no more then 1 mm for starters, solid fill color on a 45 degree angle(thats what works for me anyway)
I used voodoo inks at one time and switched to moms and have had way better results. Also some where in this color thoughts section (I think) Deakon has giving up his recipe for watering down inks for better application, or its a post similar to this, read, read, read, good luck!

I got a set of prism Ink with my starter Kit I bought, the only thing that stuff has touched is the Practice skin and Grapefruits, I ended up buying Kuro Sumi and Millenium Inks before I touched Skin, The consistancy of the prism was just crap, some were watery and some thick and I just didn't trust it on my skin, never mind anyone elses, Definately buy some better brand, I think the Milleniums are great, they lay down real nice and still look good and bright after it heals and Kuro Sumi is the blackest of the Blacks, In my oppinion......
couldnt the faded colour look be due too needle not being deep enough.?
i only say this because the 1st time i tattooed,it was a eagle i had done ten years ago and its faded real bad,so i decided 2 buy my gear and recolour it,the tattoo looks bloody great i think but then when it healed the colour came straight back out,and as it didnt hurt half as muchas when i had it done originaly im asuming i didnt have the needle set deep enough....
