Sometimes when surfing the net or looking through tattoo magazines, I'll come across pictures of very colorful tats with no black outline (bloodline?). These are often full sleeves or large back pieces. You know, chickens and monkeys peeking through a mass of blue, green, yellow and red flowers, trees etc. Obviously done by very tallented artists. But after watching my own tattoos fade and change for the last 30 years, I can't help but think, 15 years from now, these people are going to look like a rainbow took a crap all over their arms. Am I wrong? Will this kind of work hold up over time?

Inks have improved over the past 30 years.
Many blame their lack of craft to "shit ink " .It's a cop out. If you're wearing crap it's the tattooers fault. Common sense will tell the tattooist what will stay in the skin, after that there are no rules.

I have just purchased some ink from New Image in Sheffield and first impressions are that it may be brighter on my skin, I have tried a sample just to see how it heals, if it turns out ok I shall take my own ink to my tattooist mate when he works on me. There are so many inks about you have to try a lot of brands to find the one that you like. 15 years ago I purchased ink from Ron Starr tattoo supplies somewhere up North and that ink to this day is still very bright. You pay your money, you take your chance.
