As tempting and as itchy as it is..........don't pick it. If it has scabbed very heavy the chances are that the skin was overworked so until all the scabs have fallen off you can not say with any certainty if it will need touching up or not even then you must wait 3 weeks for it to fully heal.

Try this, it wont hurt and what the hell, it worked good for me, get a face cloth, run some hot water over it (not boiling), squeeze the excess out and apply to the area for approx. 10 minutes, do this 3 to 5 times a day,the scarring should decrease in a few days with this treatment, maybe disappear completely (depending on how thick??)
When the tat is healed completely, when there are no more scabs, or dryskin, or itching, no accordian look to your skin, this is when u can troubleshoot the tat to figure out what your gonna do next to it, dont be in a rush its gonna be on you for life, when healing my advice is patience, real bad scarring might require u do not do anything for at least a year. Scabbing that falls off on its own within 1.5 to 2 weeks can be worked on within the same month. Hope this helped.
