G'day I have been reading all the posts for a while now and this site is great,I haven't posted many questions as i have found out most of the answers to them here.Well I am wanting to know what is best for thinning out me colors as they seem to be a little thick,i dont know if millennium is water based or not?I have read that which hazel or just diluted water as thats what I use for shading, but the black has a nice consistancy but the colors are thicker and are hard to get in the skin, any help would be great.
thanks Mick

Distilled water works fine. You can also use alcohol or with hazel.

50/50 might be a little thin. Just add a couple of drops into the cap to thin it slightly. Experiment with the ink to see where you get the best flow. If it's still too thick add another drop. As far as alcohol, I use isopropyl alcohol. But if I want to thin my inks I use distilled water.

I just went back and read your question. Are you considering thinning the ink in the bottle? Personally, I wouldnt do that. Thin it at the cap while you're using it. Most inks today are mixed to a recipe. They have a certain amount of antiseptic in them to prevent the growth of molds or bacteria. Changing the manufacturers ratios could possibly ruin your inks.

thanks papa,I was going to thin it in the bottle as its pretty thick, but as you said it might change the manufacturers ratio,i will try it in the cap 1st and see how that works, when you said water,I was wondering wont that lighten thre color just like adding to cap for shading?
cheers Mick
