Thought would introduce myself new to forum. My name is wes and I am from Cleveland Tn. My mentor and the one I study is Master Aaron Favaloro from Skin Graphix.

I have learn alot but their still is a lot to learn and this forum is awesome the way you guys help each other be better artist , most forum will not give you time of the day or all a bunch of smartasses. I did have a question and my mentor says it's ok to learn from other artist as well. Everyone has different ways of doing things and tips and troicks. But how long do you usualy wait for art to heal before you do any touch up work. Also should you be more careful not to overwork skin the second time around or will you have the same amount of working time.I mostly use 5 round shaders up to 14 rounds. Thanks for any information. Wes

Pretty cool your mentor doesn't mind you learning from other artists. That's hard to find. As for touch-ups a solid month after healing is ample enough time.

Welcome to the Forum, good info here
I'd wait til it heals, 3 to 4 weeks, no need to hurt anyone, but there are occassions you'll get someone that can take the abuse but you don't want to stay in the skin too long, the more trauma the longer it takes to heal and it can also cause scarring.....

I've had several people come to me for touch ups on larger pieces that I've done. Mostly just tightening up things that needed during the first session but I didnt want to overwork the skin. A tattoo needs to be completely healed. In other words it needs to look like it's been there for a couple of years. At least a month old. I touched up a tribal on a guy once who looked completely healed. He was actually in the very final stages of healing and the touch up I did fell right out with the last of the dead skin. Needless to say I got to color that tribal three times for the price of one. And I cut him a major deal too!

Thanks for all the replys my mentor usualy waits atleast three weeks. He very good to me but he does like me to research stuff for myself. He says that I will end up with my own style and ways of doing things.I guess thats why he dont mind me asking questions to other artist.but I do what he tells me and then apply my own little ways of doing that suits me.I would just like to say thanks and how it is a privilege to talk and discuse our craft with all the great artist that are in this forum. Thanks Wes
