Hello motana i have a question. I have both eye brows pierced and lebret and they seemed to be rejecting. They have developed a keloid more on the lebret than the brows. I was wondering what could cause them to do this? Maybe i should change from sergical to 14k or titanium? What can be done to reverse this? Or is there nothing i can do? My ears didnt do this but then again they originally were pierced with a 14k stud at tha mall years ago, with a gun.(EEEWWW!) Years later i have stretched to 3/4 with mostly organic plugs or sillicone. Any advice would be helpful.

Eyebrows are notorious for rejecting. There could be a number of factors contributing to this. Titanium is the best option hands down for jewelry, and may help your situation (difinetly couldn't hurt). Many times people incorrectly diagnose scarring as Keloiding when it is much more likely that it is hypertrophic scarring. Where as keloiding is more of a genetic trait, hypertrophic is usually caused by aggrevation of the wound, and is much easier to get rid of. True keloids require corticosteriod injections or creams, or as a last resort surgical removal, with no guarantee they won't come back. Hypertrophic scarring can sometimes be treated with home rememdies like vitamin e rubs. One thing to remember, that the first stage to treating any type of scarring is to remove the aggrevation, which typically means the jewelry. Here are a couple of links for you..
