I'm new....and need to practice...but why doesn't color stay? I'm using the old crap Prizm inks by superior that everyone says is garbage, but could that be the only reason?
Secondly...why is it so hard to tattoo the palms of the hand?

Dfatman,

Welcome to the forums. This place is great alot of info, and little BS compared to most tattoo boards. Lotta great guys too, I've gotten good solid honest advice and critiques of my tattoing.

There's also a search button, at the top of the page. Makes finding info real easy and quick.

As for your post Ive never used Prizm. Ive only used Mom's and Kuro Sumi. Have you been able to lay colors in an orange or grapefruit at all before on skin? Ive read some bad stuff about Prizm so I avoided them right from the get-go.
Could be many other things also, more info would help.

Mind if I ask how long you've been studying tattoo?
Have you been working on oranges etc. before skin?

superior ink is fine i have used it a few times and not had any problems, the reason the ink it staying in the skin is either the needle depth is wrong, your using wrong or damaged needles ( split ends etc ), you used to much lubricant, can be alot of reasons but there the most common. and it aint hard to tattoo the palm of the hand...its one of the easiest places to tattoo because the skin is naturally stretched so you dont have to stretch the skin half as much and the ink flows into the palm as smooth as anything. only problem is the palms shed skin so the tattoo will eventually fade
