Eventually most springs break, or get weak after continuous use, make sure when u order, u order the correct springs for your machine, liner springs/shader springs, u might as well order a bunch of them, their cheap. I use NeedleJack and Pulse as my main suppliers.

when i was in Kuwait, the springs broke all time, we had to use 220 power converted to 110 and we used banding to make springs. The banding was the same stuff used to hold pallets together, that were full of ammunition. Becuz of such a power overload and conversion they blewout.

if you have the proper bend on your rear spring it should last a long time ....i just got schooled on a few things , turns out i did'nt know much , picked up 2 new handmade machines from a cat who definately knows his shit !!!! sat in his shop and watched him make both of them ,everything from wrapping the coils to making , grinding , bending and shaving his own springs very interesting stuff !!!!! he has a book out on tuning and maintenance orf your machines , well worth the investment !!!!!! I'm gonna talk to chris about maybe getting the book on the supply end of the forum ,,,,,,,more to come !!!!

I just went to a local national chain hardware store (canadian tire) and picked up a small sheet of 22guage spring steel. And for a test I cut out some springs. Lucky I have experence with sheet metal, I used to install furnaces and duct work, anyhow. The home made springs are great. I took my dremel and smoothed the rough edges with a heavy sanding tip so I wouldnt cut myself. well the new springs make a hell of a diference, my machines are running right and for some reason a hell of a lot quieter. I paid $8.00(CDN) for a 2X2 foot sheet, and Ill get about 200+ springs out of it. Im going to go buy some heavier guage metal next week to make heavier springs. the test will be to see how long they last, and if it effects how the machines run. Ill let you know how it goes if anyone is interested. In any case it is good to have a few spairs kicking around.

Right on Rouge. A little fabrication action. Let us know how it works out. I'm definitely interested to hear how the stronger springs treat ya. My guess is you'll only get to go so thick until the spring is either too strong for the magnetic pull of the coil or the throw becomes micro due to the adjustment you'll have to make just to get the spring to flex at all. Gonna be a hard hittin' SOB I'd think, but it's all just a guess.
Let us know dude.
Forgot to add: A few dollars for a spring set is certainly worth it, but 8 bucks CAD for near 200 springs? Now thats what I'm talking about. It' damn nice to have other skills too, isn't it?
Peace bro-
