Skin going puffy right after outlining on the neck

I serached and did not find a topic on this. I have done a few tattoos when the skin has puffed up or raised right after getting the lines in but very few. In my most recent tattoos I have seen a consistantcy on every back of the neck tat I have done it happens. Now I have been told about the water retention of the skin in certain people will react that way or sometimes heavier set people but not certain of those answers. So the questions is posted too you all. Also is it something that you can avoid through running your machine differently?

It's true. Water retention makes a person sick. In extreme cases, they shouldn't get a new tattoo. Heavy set people swell everywhere. If your customer has soft, pliable skin. the need for stretch increases. Be patient with your artist!!
