Hello everyone, I'm new here and I must say this site is SOOOOO helpful. I have read nearly every post in the past month or so.
Here's my question, is it safe to sterlize needles with rubbing alcohol for personal use? EX. if I get some needles that are still sealed and unopen, but are expired would this be safe? I don't have an autoclave and right now I don't see myself getting one. I'm just starting out. And one more thing, I work at a hospital and does anyone think it would be safe to use the autoclave there if I put the needles, tips, and grips in a bag?

Just buy more needles..they are inexpensive and it depends on what kind of clave you have access to.

The autoclave is very big about 12' by 5'. It's used to "cook" all of the bio from all around the hospital.

12' by 5' ??? Are you sure you're not talking about a freakin' furnace?
That's HUGE!!!!

Where I work we have an autoclave in the medical department. Since my wife is head of that department she takes all of my tubes and grips in and claves them for me. As for the needles, it's single use only. I never re-use needles. They're cheap enough that it's easier to just buy new ones.

No, it's not a furnace. The autoclave really is that big, I'll take some photos if you would like to see it .
