new tattoo

hi everyone well a friend off mine got a new tattoo couple of days ago it was a half sleeve tribal piece (top of his arm) the area around the elbow has swollen up but only that part can anyone shed any light on this is it normal for that to happen thank you in advance

It's probably fluid retention if it is not painful. I've seen it before after tattoos. It will go away after 10 days and the doctors have not provided a reason. Its nothing to worry about.
