air gap

This may come across as a simple question to some but when trying to determine a 1 or 1.5 to 2mm gap are there other things i can use like a couple dimes or nickles stacked or anything else to see im fairly close to what im after?Im trying out alot of different set-ups and have been reading up on tuning just want to try and be close.

a ruler will work most have metric on them.

Thank you guys,i will see where i can get ahold of those.The ruler method just dont cut it as far as getting a very close measurement.Try sticking one under your a-bar and set it on top of your coil.Thanx again
