i saw a show on the discovery channel or outdoor living or something and it was about tattoo culture around the world. and so this american searches out this japanese artist and gets the old style tat on his back, ass, shoulders, etc.. big tattoo. and after each session he went and sat in a pool of hot water! whoa! did anybody else see that? the old school artist told him thats how they did it. he said it burned like a mofo. could that be good. i would think that would not help the ink set just cause your pores would open up... right? mabye he had to dip in hot then cold but it didnt show it.... is this a common practice over there? i hope i wasnt the only one that saw this. so whats the word?

oh yeah

why did the woman cross the road?
what is she doing out of the kitchen? there aint no road between the living room and the kitchen!!!! ha! that killed me... alright sorry im out

I didn't do the whole soaking in a pool per say. I just take hot ass showers (as hot as I can handle) after every session. My artist thrives on the whole japanese tattooing/irezumi process and culture. He's been working on my kame (turtleback) for the past 3 months. Told me after my first session to shower in the hottest water I can handle and I've been doing it ever since. Man it hurts but it feels great once it's cooled down... no more burning sensation for the rest of night. As for the outcome of the work, it's perfectly fine.
