What they have done is make it nearly Impossible to get a legal shop. These are the morals of the bible belt in a nutshell. 1. get drunk 250 feet from churches, schools and playgrounds. 2. Go to the titty bar to get drunk 500 feet. 3. Get tattooed or legally have a shop you must be 1000 feet away from above stated items. ?MORALE ISSUE? $100,000.00 Surety Bond in which no medical costs will be covered. Why not Medical liability ins? So yeah they did it. I am still trying to figure out just what it is! Thanks to Fat Greg and others who fought in court and spent time in jail to make it legal to tattoo in the great state of sloklahoma!

not even close buddy! taking some art classes and abusing some grapefruits and my upper thigh. one day though, i'm in western ok. and as you know apprentiships are scarce here. but i'm already thinking about moving somewhere closer to the tattoo scene. but that won't be til i get some art classes under my belt. any oklahoma artists willing to let me sit in and watch would be really great.

to even apprentice someone you have to have been operating legally for five years

the shop or the individual? do you mean that to even do an apprenticeship the artist would have to have been working legally in another state?

it may mean artist but the way the thing is written it looks like it means the shop cause an artist cant sponsor an apprentice that i know of . a shop can sponsor an apprentice but had to get approved by the health dept by sending in a written 2 year curiculum of what the apprentice will learn week by week and the whole 5 year thing.
but the rules seem to change every 2 weeks so who knows .
we origionally got shut down for being to close to a church then they changed that law and we opened back up

Damn 5 years thats fucked man.Shit in Vegas its 6 months plus all your shots, pass the test, bbp courses, and renewal every 2 years.which equals about 400-500bucks cash but you have to be in a shop first then you can take the test.
