Gotta admit, it kinda spooked me a bit.

Several things the article failed to mention. Nearly one third of the population of the U.S. are natural carriers of staph. At one time the normal way to contract staph infection was to get it at the hospital after surgery. However with the onslaught of methamphetamine users who have deficient immune systems because of the drug usage, staph has become more common in the community. It's known as CA-MRSA or community aquirred staph infection. Staph aquirred from a hospital stay is known as HA-MRSA or hospital aquirred staph.

I'm not in any way defending anyone who tattoos another person without taking proper precautions. A guitar string and a cassette motor do not a tattooist make. But I have to wonder if the reporter who penned the article even took into account that most after tattoo staph infections are an aftercare issue and not the fault of the tattooist be they licensed or unlicensed.

It did say no attemted was made to sterilize the area to b tattooed.
after shaving with green soap dont forget the alcohol!
