I'm trying to find out if it would be safe to mix a small amount of cremated human remains in my ink for a tattoo?

Thats about the sickest thing i ever heard of.. Go se a doctor ! And perhaps get an electricshock or something..
But to answer your question, black ink is mostley based on ashes. Not from dead people though..

hmmmmmm......
I just don't know what to say about that.
I personally wouldn't advise it. You're introducing an unsanitairy foreign substance into the ink, for one. Second, it's cremated human remains!!!
I seriously wouldn't recommend it.You're inviting a freaking assload of contamination there. Their are much better ways of paying tribute to the lost loved ones. Please, reconsider this course of action.

I dont think that you sick for doing something like that. Obviously the remains have deep meaning for you, and you wish to carry that person for the rest of your life. If you do something like this though I think that infection WILL accour. Your body may try to get rid of the ashes. You dont want that! It might just be a waist of the ashes.
Instead, try seeing about getting a ring made with the ashes.

Fella on a past Miami Ink did the very same thing, no muss or fuss had a little bit of his dead bro added into the mix......

i have human ashes in me.
one of my best bros and a fellow artist.
it was a wish of his, long before he was killed.
i had a tattoo machine done in black and grey with his ashes in all shades.
that been 6 years and no problems at all.
i tell friends and clients of his that i'm 2 times the tattooist now because of it. lol

asked around and got some weird looks and some info from cats in the med field. Since human ash (same as any other ash, which is not really physical matter as it was) is produced by changing it's basic make-up....it's now what could be considered the same thing that makes parts of tattoo ink...an organic ingredient. so...i'm guessing it's cool.

i have seen little urns like the size of a quarter you can put on a neck less that is what i would do if i wanted to carry around some ashes of a lost love one

I personally understand the meaning, and dig the idea of it.
If given the choice...I'd wear the necklace though :)
