I guess the airbrush thread dissappears every three months or so....Ive owned an airbrush business for several years before I moved out to Texas. I use mostly Iwata Eclipse's, and some BC2's....Also have had great luck with Badger as the owner of the company got me turned onto them awhile back, had the chance to use the Vega's (formerly Thayer and Chandler) and Omni's....But one of the best Badger's Ive found for textiles and hard surfaces is the Badger Anthem 155....
Also dabble in pinstriping, using Mack, Xcaliber, and Kafka with One Shot or HoK...

i hav a few pasche and badger airbrushes, i used to use them quite a bit but... they have been sitting in my attic for years, mostly I custom painted RC cars, and motorcycle gas tanks, and the occasional t-shirt. I didnt really go to far with it as Myrtle beach had an airbrush stand every 10 feet so i lost intrest.

Hi everyone,
I just joined the forum today and wow!!! awesome!!.
Anyhow, IWATA rules. The best airbrushes around. I've been using them for the past 10 years. I use the HP-CS for moderate to all round details and spraying. For tight details, I use the CM-C and CM-A Micron . Killer fine lines with amazing atomization. Actually, with the proper psi and paint viscosity, I can get just as sharp as a Micron with my HP-CS. HOWEVER, I only use automotive urethanes, a solvent based paint. I use them mainly because they flow through my airbrushes like water and rairly do I have clogging problems. When you use a waterbased paint such as CREATEX/ AUTO AIR colours, they can be very frustrating because of it's thicker viscosity. You can only reduce the paint down to about 20% and that still gives flow problems when you are trying to do tight details. There are other waterbased brands such as Com Art colours that are great for commercial illustration and they actually flow almost as good as a urethane, however, you can't use them for t-shirt or automotive airbrushing because they will fade quickly when washed or exposed to UVs.
Anyhow, this place rocks and you'll all be seeing much more of me.
hichStick with IWATA and you can't go wrong, the best investment.

For leather, Createx would be the best. Use their Auto Air line of colors. Most art shops carry them. If not, check out www.bearair.com .

I would also recommend taking a look at Aqua Flow colors for any fabric textile. The silk black is a must have for an airbrush palette as the createx black blows nuts......
Bear Air is a good site, family run last time I checked. Very easy to order from and do business with.
Worst place Ive ever done business with is Coast Airbrush. My order was shorted and the customer service rep was very insulting.

Sorry also forgot to post that the Iwata's are excellent tools, Ive never had any problems from them other than tips wearing out, and needles hooking.....I would have to say Badger is right up there as one of the best as well as the owner of the company goes out of his way to help artists, and solve customer service issues, sometimes at his own expense.

Iwata brushes can still be had at www.dixieart.com which is Dixie Art and Drafting supplies, a New Orleans based art supply company who's employees actually have a great deal of AB experience.

I usually get my urethanes from HOK out of Vancouver or, when I'm buying in bulk, from Bear Air or Coast Airbrush. They are available in small quanties, 2, 4 and 16 oz sizes as well as quarts. Thay all sell the House of Kolor line.
By the way, I never heard of using Fantastik. I would never have thought!!!
As for Iwata not selling to Bear Air, that is a load of corporate crap. I was pissed when I heard that because Bear Air is a great company. Coast obviously worked out some kind of deal with Iwata that would make them more of the market leader. Not fair. However, I still need my Iwata supplies and Coast Airbrush has by far the best selection and price. They have screwed up orders in the past, but so had Bear Air. We're all human.
Rock on!!

Ive used the Iwata Power Jet for several years. There are quite a few out on the market, I tend to find their output to be a little hyped. I quickly got away from having several brushes hooked up on a manifold and went to a single female quick connect on the hose from the compressor and male qc's on the bottom of the brushes and this saved a lot of hassle.
Couple of years ago I switched to a Hitachi pancake compressor due to it having a higher output and slightly larger volume tank on it....
