Looks great, nice detail, I like the use of negative space --Did you use blood lineing to get that clean edge in spark or arc affect?

no i didnt use bloodlining at the time of this piece.its about 2yrs old,i had never done a graywash until this one,i didnt even know what bloodlining was at the time,i just ignored the spaces i didnt want shaded and shaded around it.i didnt join a forum or knew there was such a thing for tattooist, artist or what have you until about 9 months ago

Hey C was the ink you used just black or what I have see that it is different then the black tat below it and wondered is it red tinted because its new or a different black. Dumb question to those that know but thats how we learn. Thanks Magnum

Ok bruthaz.. opinions.. its the newest one Im doin on me..cause one of the biggest bitches about being a tat artist is... WHERES YOURE HOOKUP? lol. how come I cant have a freakin tat artist friend?? pfff. anyways.. its actually a lot darker than it looks in this pic.. cause of the flash and the ointment... had to stop.. you can see not all the outline is done. Not cause the pain of the tat.. but damn..after a few hours bending the way you need to...my ribs start cavin' in.
Still have TONS left to do...more detail to the scales... more shading darks and highlights for that more 3d effect...and shadows... and color tot he waves.. etc etc etc..
These posts have been helpin me lots. FINALLY figured out why my damn grey was lookin so freakin dark.. i was compensating with faster hand strokes..when all I had to do was turn my FKN gun down haha. I've been turnin it up.. why... i do not know... instead of turnin it down while shading..

its kind of hard to see from the pictures since you took them your self i would like to see it when it heals up and you can get someone else to take the picture

Keepin it shades of grey.... didnt want the typical looking coi... hence the dragon scales too vs. the normal ones. I MIGHT add some hints of a deep red to scales... and then do some soft highlights to make the scales POP..and give the fish a more rounded look.. but I really wanted the color of this piece to be everything around it. Kinda had those pictures in mind...where the lil boy is handing the lil girl a rose.. a black and white picture....and only the rose in the pic is red... .. Its still up in the air. But yeah.. when i finish up...I'll get the Mrs. to take some decent pics and i'll post.
I wanted to do a black Coi...with green waves..., so... I went down that path.. BUT... green doesnt like to pop on my skin...sooo.. might have to make the waves Blue instead. BAHHH....

MIGHT have to freakin PAY someone... to do the tail...dunno if i can get my hand to my ankle at the right angle for that... ...
