Hi, thanks for taking the time to look at and/or comment on my first go at b&g work. This was this past sunday. I'm a DIY'er, so the only instruction I have had has been forums. I know there are some lineweights to be adjusted, and some of the shading could use a little more variance, but I was pleased for what it is.

Interesting break with tradition, I always thought it looked better and was de rigeur to have tattoos face inward, e.g. faces turned towards the chest, thumb on the chest side, etc.

Other than that, nice...

I used a 7n mag, and dilluted as I went, not in premixes. I think I might try the premix method next time.

I keep three bottles of greywash premixed.

one is straight kurosumi greywash, one is ks greywash cut 50/50, the third is cut 25/75.

I use a 50/50 mix of witch hazel and distilled water to cut it with.

Usually when I'm doing any grey work, depending on how intricate and large it is, I also keep a medicine cup of the same water, witch hazel mix for extra dillution.

I used to do my grey work with straight black and adjust my hand speed and ps voltage but once I experimented with premixed dillutions I was much happier with the results.

about three years ago, done with straight black.

as you can tell from the pic though, it was a small piece.

pretty good. your black is solid, i hope you didnt pass over it too many times :) premix shades of gray and technique, of course, can keep your shading consistent.
