You dont mean that you would you go from using Mom's to using Kaplan's inks, do you? .. thats like saying "I'm driving a Lexus, but I'm thinking about getting a Yugo from a junkyard".

Kaplan's inks are straight crap dude.

Honestly, in my experience.. no one brand has a perfect color roster.. I currently have Kuro sumi, Waverly, Starbrights, Intenze, and Mom's.. I have heard good stuff about skin candy's pinks and greens.. other than that.. I dunno.

go with the inks that are well known and work best for you,if you wanna test a new brand of ink then buy the colors that(just a few of them mind you) are the toughest for you to work or heal.this way you'll know how the new colors will stack up against your tried and true colors

skin candy is not made by kaplan......cant remember the makers name, but it is no doubt one of the best quality inks on the market, and its what the guys from miami ink use exclusively. the owner at my work uses nothing but skin candy, i have there white, and tokyo pink.

Skin Candy is made by August Worchell in Hollywood. I've heard it's very good but I don't know from personal experience. I've met the guy and he doesn't seem very bright so I wouldn't use his product.

Skin Candy is made by a fellow in Southern California (interesting name and I too cannot remember - he used to play in a rock band in the 80s - not kidding). Anyway, basically Skin Candy is pure pigment with all the basics you get if you were to make your own. Glycol, Glycerin, Alcohol, Etc. We were going to use them a while back and decided to have ours manufactured back East. Heres the deal. Cam (the supplier in Ca) is the manufacturer of Cam Juice. Cam Juice is Skin Candy. Now you know. What makes one color better than another. Depending on whether or not you have plastic (plasticides) = bright colors. Won't name names you can probably figure this out on your own. The other popular ingredient is acryllic. This is used as a binder in some pigments (won't name any names). This leads you to where I am going with this. Two years in the development. Needle Jack has created Fusion - perfect dispersion with no acryllics or plasticides and recently approved for use in Europe. Very big hurdle for us. We have MSDS sheets and will begin pushing out sample packets within the next 3 months to all users on the forum and our regular client base @ Needle Jack Tattoo Supply, Inc. Your feedback will be greatly appreciated as this is nothing new for us and numerous BioChemists were involved in the creating process to deliver a product that is easy to work with, not too runny, bright colors, and over two years have held their edge as far as color fading etc. PS - Keep posting the pics. Looks real good guys. Peace Out.

funny thing, i pulled a bottle of kaplan ink labeled "black pelcan" out of a box it had been sitting in for some years.
it had seperated into a mess of almost clear fluid, with a big tarry looking blob in the bottom of the bottle.
what's funny about it is, the pelikan from national (put into storage at the same time) was still a nice liquid black ink.
the kaplan bottles, once emptied and washed, do come in handy, tho.

Needle Jack has created Fusion - perfect dispersion with no acryllics or plasticides
i look foward to trying them out!

peace-

Congradulations on the developement of Fusion. Sounds great and worth a try. When do you expect to have this available for retail? What size bottles are you considering offering, and will you be offering them in a partial or complete set? Thanks, Hammer
